PROPOSALS FOR SESSIONS SPECIAL, THEMATIC AND SHORT COURSES

PROPOSALS FOR SESSIONS SPECIAL, THEMATIC AND SHORT COURSES

Guidelines for submission of Special and Thematic Sessions:

Only proposals submitted in the requested format will be evaluated.

Proposals must be submitted electronically through the button “SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL SESSION / SHORT COURSE”, available on the right side of the screen. The form template is available HERE and also on the Galoá Platform, after being logged in. It must include: title (in portuguese and english) with up to 170 characters (with spaces) for each language, abstract (in portuguese and english) with up to 200 words in each language, name of convener and a list of speakers, including presentation schedule. Session proposals must be based on scientific value clearly stated in the Abstract. Please, indicate if there are financial resources available to support travel and subsistence of the convener and all speakers. The SBSR may eventually seek some funding for speakers but can not commit to that right now.

Each Special Session will receive a time slot of 90 minutes. The number of speakers and the time for each presentation will be defined by the session convener. All Special Sessions will be plenary.

Each Thematic Session will receive a time slot of 130 minutes. The number of speakers and the time for each presentation will be defined by the session convener. Ideally, a session should have three to four speakers, delivering 20 to 30 minutes presentations with time for discussion.

Preference will be given to Session proposals with a focus on scientific results, including their applications.

All conveners and authors listed must consent to being named as such by the time the session proposal is accepted.

The deadline for submission of the proposals is July, 31st 2022.

Guidelines for submission of Short Courses:

The submission process of proposals for Short Courses must inform the title, coordinator, monitors and/or instructors (maximum 2). You must also inform the language of the course, whether the course will be theoretical or practical, including the demand for computers and access to the data network.

The Short Courses must have a duration limited to 8 hours (one day of the course), which will be on April, 2, 2023 (Sunday).

Submissions must be made directly by Galoá Plataform using the button “SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL SESSION / SHORT COURSE“, available on the right side of the screen.

The Short Courses aim to disseminate techniques for processing, analyzing and interpreting remote sensing data, covering scientific topics of broad interest to the scientific community. The Short Courses should prioritize advances in the area, preferably focusing on applications with a broad spectrum of users.

The deadline for submission of the proposals is July, 31st 2022.
